Daily Devotion

We are all devoted to something. And this devotion is often played out on a daily basis.  Most of it on a subconscious level.

For those of us who are employed by a boss, we are devoted to going into work. For those of us with a family/kids, we are devoted to their well being – getting them fed and clothed and off to school/work or play.

Some of us may be more consciously devoted to and exercise regime, or a yoga/meditation practice or even a food choice – juicing for breakfast – or a vegan lifestyle.

Every commitment we make is a devotion – a dedication to some purpose.

What then if we aren’t consciously aware of our devotions?

Could this lead to confusion and an energy drain in our lives?

Most definitely.

I recently discovered that a lack of devotion had me feeling a bit off and a seriously lacking in motivation.  It had been almost a week where I had not created anything – and although I had been stepping into my new shiny “artist” boots and standing clearly to be seen on my new path, I had not put paintbrush to paper – or crystal bead to wire for a number of days in a row. I had not tapped in to my soul’s needs  – I had been nourishing her with colourful creating time – and then I stopped – and she began to suffer.

And when she suffers – so do I.

And yet as is the magical way of my ego – I couldn’t see it.

After listening to me complain about how I was feeling off and had little motivation, a wise friend simply said

“GO MAKE ART”

And I did – and life began to flow more smoothly and My Soul gave a little cheer as she began to breathe again.

What is it that your soul needs you to do?

Can you make a daily devotion to it?

Get still and listen

When you hear it – go do it/make it/be it/live it.
