Truth or Dare

The truth can be hard to swallow.

We get messages from the Universe when we are living out of alignment with our truth.

These messages are often sent to us through our physical body – tension in your jaw – tightening in the pit of your stomach – constriction in your chest – all signs that something is out of whack.

But there is comfort in familiarity – and we often dare to ignore these truths, stuff them back inside, hide them away. Carry on as normal, don’t rock the boat, don’t upset the applecart and keep on doing those things that everyone (including yourself) expects you to do.

Even if this is not your truth.

I’ve been contemplating the notion of “Living your Truth”, and how we often Dare to ignore it (at our own peril).  Even when physical illness stops us in our tracks – a very clear sign from the Universe that we need to change course – we continue on as before.  Or when we attempt to realign ourselves, those around us feel the status quo is threatened and may work extra hard at keeping us in our place.

But here’s a little flash of light and inspiration –

Your true path is always there

if you seek to avoid it – you will find it

dare the Universe by ignoring it and it will find you.

Not in a scary, malevolent or malicious way – but in an amazing, intentional and awe inspiring way.

Your purpose is your perfect fit.

Every cell in your body was created to fulfil this purpose, and while you may not know it entirely or have it completely mapped out, if you take the time to explore the path you are currently on, you will begin to read the signs – and feel that tingle within your cells when you are headed in the right direction.  And once you get a taste for the tingles, every cell in your body will be vying for you to follow that path.

I can clearly see statements hanging in the air – written by my ego –  hand over heart where I have said “I don’t want to do this” or “I’m not interested in pursuing that”, and here I am less than 2 years down the track embracing some of those things. And the beauty of it is that while I may have resisted (and still continue to resist) some of the directions, this roundabout path is all part of the design – and often adds a little extra sweetness to the surrendering – after the long struggle.

And when I take a breather on this path  – step back to look where I’ve come from, and the zig zag that has led me right to the spot where I was trying so hard to avoid,

I am filled with such a wonderment, such a strong sense of gratitude for this crazy complicated, simple, amazing, humorous, inspiring thing called life.

You meet your destiny on the road you take to avoid it.
