“Celebrate who you are and what you stand for. Give wings to your dreams and live your aspirations. You’ve only got one life – live it in the best way you possibly can.”

I’d be lost without connection and interaction. My life has changed dramatically from working in a busy office, collaborating with other designers, and clients, contractors and Reps constantly calling on the phone, spare time spent with small often noisy children and barely a moment of quiet to myself. So there’s so much to be said for leaving that all behind. I now have space, silence and a chance to listen to my inner self, my soul and my spirit.
But I can’t move forwards alone in a bubble – I can’t grow without the input of others to expand my perspective. And I have been seeking and finding that input, that connection – my soulful sounding board – my group of sisters – my spirited think tank. And it was one such discussion with one such beauty just the other day over coffee and zucchini fritters that have gifted me mental nourishment for contemplation – and what good is a gift – unless it’s shared?
Let’s think about the concept of Life being a Journey and not a Destination, by practising this, we learn to appreciate the Present moment. We don’t spend all our time future-tripping and we become mindful of the little things, and we get to notice all of the signs our spirit and the universe have conjured up to help us decode the journey. This, although an on-going lesson to be learned, is not ground breaking or new.
On the flip side though, there needs to be a certain level of goal setting and direction mapping to help us propel ourselves along – to stop us from getting stuck. So a fine balance needs to be maintained between being present and aspiring to journey towards something we desire – an equilibrium between the pull of the present and the push towards the future.
Imagine though – if we have our future told by a fortune teller of sorts – or we have a vision during a meditation or a dream of a scene that is lucid and filled with our future self. Imagine if we look at these with such clarity and affirm – “that is my dream” – or “I aspire to be there/do that/be that.” We set our sights on this destination – we put into place some action steps to get us there – but it is still somewhere in the future. It is somewhere up there – somewhere we need to climb and strain and strive for.
Here’s the thing – that dream, that vision, that future
it came from within you
You connected to it because
it is yours
it is
your design – your manifestation – yours
So that destination you are aspiring towards
you are already there
it is now just a journey to uncover the details. No struggle and strive to make it happen.
it belongs to you – own it – receive it
it will come to you along this journey.
Don’t push towards it – leave space for the details to come to you, leave space to notice all of the signs your spirit and the universe have conjured up to help you decode this dream.
Relax, let go of the struggle
You are already there – it is yours – yours for the receiving

As usual, a beautiful, soulful, heartfelt snapshot of exactly what we all need to hear, remember and learn. So wise Lisa and so so true. Gosh it’s good to know you x
Why thank you Rachelle – without gorgeous souls like yourself – I would not remember to shine 🙂 <3
I LOVE ‘Spirited Think Tank’! That’s awesome. I love this message. It’s so freeing accepting where you are and trusting that when the time is right, the next step will present itself just as it is meant too. I echo Rachelle above – sooo good to know you sweet lady! X
Thanks so much Che, and thanks for being an integral part of the tank 😉
LOVE this xx
Sorry it has taken me so long to comment on your site 🙁
Especially love this part:
“Don’t push towards it – leave space for the details to come to you, leave space to notice all of the signs your spirit and the universe have conjured up to help you decode this dream.”
Also, was SO excited to see some of my photos in action!
Thank you for loving them enough to include in your beautiful post, and for the credit and links, it is so much appreciated xx
Thanks for stopping by Lisa. And thanks for your support! Your photos were so inspiring I wanted to include them all! Glad this post resonated with you lovely! x 🙂
Each time I re-read the last part of the post I exhale and hear myself say ok; not in a resigned way but in a surrender to what is and what will be kind of way. An opening and a foundation. Love love love this part in particular – ‘it belongs to you – own it – receive it’ – and your validation of what is already (y)ours. 🙂
Beautiful Ellie – love the (y)ours – that just makes it even better – the collective yet personal journey where anything you receive is multiplied a thousand times when you share it! xx
