Do you have something to say?
Do you feel like there is a part of you that you need to express to the world?
Whether it be in the form of written or spoken word, poetry, painting, drawing, movement, dancing or some other form of artistic expression?
Are you allowing your expression out into the world?
Or is there something holding you back?
A voice inside that says
“No one wants to hear what you’ve got to say!“
or
“Who are you to tell your story – and who will care anyway?”
Is fear blocking your path? Is your ego, your inner nasty voice keeping you from letting your soul shine out for all to see. Or perhaps you’re biding your time until it is perfected and polished so that no one can judge or fault it. Or maybe you have seen a hundred stories that are similar.
The thing is though – your purpose – in this life – is to share your story –
your soul – your light.
It is why we are here.
T.O. S.H.A.R.E. O.U.R. S.T.O.R.Y.
We connect with others by sharing ourselves – not by copying others.
And if like me you have spent many many years – covering up that light – stuffing that story back inside – then your soul is suffering.
The simple act of telling your story in what ever form that may be, is the single most liberating, soul nourishing and self love act that you could perform.
In the book “Dying to Be Me”, Anita Moorjani sums it up …
“Just be who you are…Be as you as you can be because that is why you are here. That is why you have come here – to express your magnificence…Shine your light as brightly as you can. Don’t deprive the universe or the world of who you came here to be….And that is your only purpose.”
So how can we retrain ourselves to start expressing our own story?
Is it possible to remember our own magnificence and to put it out into the universe?
Definitely!
And will it be an ongoing practice?
Definitely!
And will our inner nasty voice keep up the negative banter?
Definitely!
So in I have put into practice some techniques that I have been using over the past 12 months to help me to get into the habit of expressing my true self.
Do you have any techniques to help you keep sharing your story and shining your light for all to see? I’d love to hear from you in the comments –
show me your magnificence!
